Longmeadow Rescue Ranch Barn Buddy
Poppy and Sage's Story Poppy and Sage came to Longmeadow Rescue Ranch from Tennessee where they were rescued with hundreds of dogs and other animals that were not being properly cared for. Miniature horses have happened as a result of selective breeding. They are very cute and inviting but, because of their small size, sometimes they have health problems like protruding eyes that are easily injured, and hoof and knee problems because their short legs carry so much body weight.
Poppy and Sage's Personality At first, both Poppy and Sage were very scared and probably had not been handled much. As they get used to the daily activities at Longmeadow, they are becoming much friendlier with staff and visitors. Poppy is more curious and energetic; Sage is typically gentle and quiet.
Poppy and Sage's Health When they came to Longmeadow, both Poppy and Sage were underweight and had parasites. They were dewormed and were put on a regular deworming schedule every 60 days. They eat a grass-mixed hay.
