Bruenor's Story Bruenor was rescued with 16 other horses from southern Missouri in May 2009. He was severely underweight, infested with parasites, weak, dehydrated, and suffering from dental and hoof neglect. Because a dead horse was found on the same property with Bruenor, we think our Animal Cruelty Task Force got there just in time to prevent more horses from losing their lives.
Bruenor's Health Because at age 25 he is considered an older horse, we were very worried about Bruenor recovering from the neglect he endured. However, with the expert supportive care he received at Longmeadow, in about 5 months Bruenor reached a healthy weight. Bruenor still requires routine care—vaccinations, deworming, hoof trimming, teeth floating, and, of course, plenty of good food.
Bruenor's Personality Bruenor has a very friendly and loving personality. He likes to meet new people and is very patient with beginners. Bruenor has a very important job at the ranch. New adopters show us their riding skills by first riding Bruenor. This evaluation helps us match adopters with the Longmeadow horse that is just right for them. We think Bruenor truly enjoys his new career at Longmeadow and visits from his Barn Buddy sponsors.
