Watch a special message from Ralph Join Ralph's Team Start Your Own Team RALPH Owner: Teresa Lewis Ralph is my eight-year-old German Shepherd! He came into our lives when we didn’t know what we really needed or wanted. We were lost, sad, and angry! Randi, my daughter, had just passed away from cancer at sixteen. Randi had recently asked for a German Shepherd puppy, and we decided to get one, though Randi died before we could bring Ralph home. We picked him up Easter weekend, 2001. Several years ago when my grandson, AJ was three, he was having trouble breathing in the night. Ralph was relentless in waking up his mom to take care of him. It turned out that my grandson has Asthma and Ralph was the first to know and alert us. Ralph earned his wings that night, because AJ was diagnosed as a severe asthmatic. Many times my grandsons, Christopher and AJ would ride their battery-operated 4-wheelers to close to the road and Ralph would grab the back of their 4-wheelers and pull them back to the sidewalk! Over the years Ralph has inspired, encouraged, and loved many children and adults. He is a working (touch therapy) dog that comes to school everyday. Ralph sits with students/teachers that need a little extra attention or just a hug. Ralph is ‘on-call’ ready and willing to provide whatever is needed by anyone that visits. Ralph gives unconditional love and he asks for nothing in return. He feels the pain of others and pays attention to the needs of those around him. My students and those not in my class greet Ralph with a loving touch, hugs and in some cases a wave from the door.
