+ How much is it to attend Bark in the Park?
- End of 2016 Special: $30 per person (through December 31, 2016)
- Early Bird Registration: $35 per person (January 1, 2017 - April 30, 2017)
- General Registration: $40 per person (May 1, 2017 - May 20, 2017)

+ Why register?
All of the proceeds from Bark in the Park go to the Humane Society of Missouri's Animal Cruelty Fund, dedicated to investigating, healing and preventing animal abuse.
Your registration fee and additional funds raised go directly to helping dogs, cats, critters, horses, and many other pets who get their second chance at HSMO.
+ What activities will be at Bark in the Park?
In addition to the 5k race and the 1-mile Walk for Animals, you and your pooch can enjoy high-flying fun with the Purina Pro Plan Performance Team, or test your pup's skill on the doggie agility course! We'll have PAWsome pet contests, animal-centric vendors and plenty of kid-friendly activities. We're adding more fun to the festivities all the time - you won't want to miss any of the action!
+ Who can participate in the 5k race?
- People of all ages are welcome to participate in this professionally-managed, chip-timed race.
- All participants, including children 12 and under, must register for the 5k to receive a timing bib and join the race.
- Run, jog, or walk 3.1 miles with or without your pooch! Discuss with your veterinarian whether your dog is in adequate physical condition for the 5k event!
- NO RETRACTABLE LEASHES
+ I don't want to run the 5k or join the walk - do I still have to register?
All attendees must register for Bark in the Park, whether or not they participate in the 5K or 1-mile fun walk.
+ My friend/spouse just wants to cheer me on at the 5k. Do they have to register?
All attendees must register for Bark in the Park, whether or not they participate in the 5K or 1-mile fun walk. And you can feel GOOD about your registration fee: it goes towards helping homeless animals get a second chance at life.
+ I don't have a dog. Can I still come to Bark in the Park?
No furry friend? No problem! Join us at Bark in the Park and get lots of lovin' from other pooches in attendance. It's all for a great cause!
If you're crazy for cats or gaga over goats, consider forming a pack with your animal-loving friends to raise much-needed funds for ALL animals in need! Then, celebrate at the fun festival on May 20!
+ Do I have to raise pledges to attend Bark in the Park?
Raising money above and beyond the requested registration fee means more funding for animals in need, AND you'll be entered to win great prizes! However, additional fundraising is not a requirement to attend the event.
+ What is a Pack and how do I join?
Grab your friends, family, co-workers, and other animal lovers and form a Pack to Raise Dollars for Dogs and win great prizes! There's no limit to the number of Pack Members you can have.
Set a fundraising goal - remember, each dollar your pack raises helps dogs and other animals in HSMO shelters! Then, celebrate your fundraising efforts as a team at Bark in the Park on May 20!
+ How do my friends and family make donations in my name (or my Pack's name) online?
It's easy! Just send them to www.hsmo.org/bark and have them click on the Donate to a pack or individual link. They can then search for your name and make a secure donation online that, once processed, will be reflected in your individual total.
+ If someone supports me, are they also considered members of my Pack?
No, they are not. In order to be considered a Pack member, they have to register to join the team their registration fee is credited to them as an individual and to the team goal as a whole.
+ Where is Cricket Field, and where should I park?
Cricket Field is just east of the Muny Circle and the Visitor’s Center Parking Lot. The most convenient entrance to use is off of Lindell at the History Museum. We will have plenty of signage throughout the park to direct you to Cricket Field. Map and directions to Cricket Field »
Plenty of FREE parking is available near Cricket Field - at the Forest Park Visitor’s Center Lot, on the street and at the Lower Muny Lot.
+ What should my dog bring to Bark in the Park?
You and your dog should come prepared with a NON-retractable leash and doggie clean-up bags. We’ll provide the doggie water and treats! NOTE: all dogs in attendance should be up-to-date on all of their vaccinations.
+ My new puppy would love to attend Bark in the Park, is that OK?
We recommended that puppies younger than six months wait a year to attend Bark in the Park. The stress of the event and the company of so many other dogs may be too much for your little guy or gal. All dogs who attend are required to have all of their shots up-to-date.
+ What payment methods can I use for the Bark in the Park food and goodies?
We will accept cash, checks, debit and credit cards for all purchases at Bark in the Park, although some independent vendors may accept different payment methods.
+ How can I volunteer at Bark in the Park?
We accept volunteers for both day-of-event roles, as well as pre-event setup in the days before Bark in the Park. Whether you volunteer during the actual event or in the days leading up to it, we ask that you do not bring your personal pets. Volunteer opportunities for the 2017 Bark in the Park will be announced soon!
+ Really Rain OR Shine?
Yes, even if it's raining cats and dogs we'll still be at Cricket Field on May 20, 2017. Many event activities will be under tents, so come and enjoy all of the DOG-GONE fun even if it's a little wet!
